Event Planning

- Assemble planning team
- Develop simple storyboard making sure each scene takes around five minutes.
- Develop ideas for layout
- Buy/borrow items needed for event.
- We needed 4 gazebos. Also 75 metres of dark fabric - bought extremely cheaply from a discount fabric warehouse.
- Design and paint scenery. Large roll of corrugated card attached to wooden batons worked well.
- Invite schools - we provided coach transport to and from event - thus helping schools at a busy time but also allowing us to coordinate timing better!
- Design lighting - can be very simple: we used domestic spots, Christmas lights etc.
- Assign roles to each team member - actor, puppeteer, meeter and greeter, craft helper, guide etc. Some of these may have to be duplicated.
- All team members wore a special T-shirt with our logo (easy to produce on computer and iron on).
